A beachfront apartment at Las Fuentes is the choice for anyone who wants to see the sea, pop down to the beach in flip-flops and still get a good night's sleep. Las Fuentes (Les Fonts in Valencian) is the area of Alcossebre around the marina, north of the town centre and Cargador beach.
Beachfront at Las Fuentes vs beachfront in the centre
Alcossebre has several "beachfronts", and they're not alike:
| Area | Atmosphere | Beach |
|---|---|---|
| Las Fuentes | Quiet, residential, next to the marina | Les Fonts, about 400 m, fine sand and springs |
| Cargador promenade | Lively, with restaurants and village life | Cargador, 850 m, Blue Flag since 1987 |
| Romana beach | Family-friendly and residential, further south | Romana, 500 m, fine sand |
Las Fuentes suits those who prefer calm, strolls and the marina to hustle and bustle: couples who no longer need to be at the centre of the nightlife, and families with young children who appreciate a sheltered beach.

Les Fonts beach
Les Fonts beach has fine sand and is about 400 metres long and 40 metres wide, according to the Alcossebre tourism website. Its most curious feature gives it its name: freshwater springs bubble up through the sand itself, fed by an ancient underground aquifer.
There are lifeguards in season, toilets, showers and foot taps, access ramps, a children's play area and equipment hire. It's a good beach for grandchildren: the grown-ups come down from the promenade and the little ones have the play area close by.
Why the Marino is truly beachfront
The Marino complex sits right on the seafront promenade: it has direct access to the beach via the promenade, with no roads or cars in between. Inside, everything is pedestrian, with gardens, palms and pines, and the pools in the middle.

The photo shows the way out of the complex to the promenade and the beach: a few steps through the gardens and you're facing the sea. You'll find the details of each apartment type in Marino and Marino Superior.
Enjoying the seafront promenade
The best thing about staying here is the promenade: early in the morning, when there's hardly anyone about; at midday, for lunch overlooking the sea; and at sunset, along to the marina to watch the yachts come in. We describe it step by step in the Las Fuentes promenade to the marina.
Tips for booking a beachfront apartment
- Beachfront accommodation is the first to fill up in July and August: book early.
- In June and September the promenade is quieter and the weather is still lovely.
- The Marino Superior apartments have heating or a heat pump, a good choice for autumn, winter and spring stays.
- If you're travelling with older people, ask for the ground floor: the complex has no lift.
